Training your dog is so much more than teaching them a few tricks or practicing a series of learning exercises. It’s developing a relationship and communication strategy with your dog so they can truly become “man’s best friend.” Here at Gagnon’s Pet Resort, we respect the human-animal bond and teach dogs using behavior management and positive reinforcement. Our focus is not on punishing bad behavior; instead, we strive to ensure that pets know those behaviors are not rewarding. We also focus on socialization, which is an extremely important but often overlooked part of training.
Our trainer will take the time to evaluate your dog and train them according to their individual personality. We are a licensed and insured dog training facility in the State of Connecticut, and we’d love to be entrusted with helping you train the best dog ever!
We offer a variety of services to meet your needs. All dogs must have proof of current Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations to be eligible for our services.
This is perfect for working on specific negative behaviors and ideal for dogs who are fearful or reactive. The cost for an hour of in-home training, reactive or fear issues is $200. An additional travel fee applies if we need to travel more than 20 miles to reach you.
We currently do not have availability for basic obedience classes at the moment. Please call the resort to be added to our wait list for group classes or to speak to the trainer directly regarding your specific training needs if you are looking for private training.
Please note that if you are seeking reactivity training in-home or at our resort, you must complete our Fearful/Reactive form.
